History of Rao Shekha


Introduction:-
                           Maha Rao Shekha was born on 24TH September 1433 CE. His Father’s name was MOKAL and his Mother’s name was NIRVAN. He was the chieftain who was in the Amer (Jaipur) District.  At the age of 12, shekha took up his father's responsibilities in 1455 CE. Udaikaran, the ruler of Amer (Jaipur) adorned shekha with the title of MahaRao.

 At the age of 16, he performed a sudden attack on Sankhla Rajput’s of Naharchal and gained the victory. From 1473 CE to 1477 CE, Rao Shekha took the help of Pani Pathans and gained victory on Nopsingh Jatu up to Dadri and on other Jatu Rajput’s.  He extended the boundaries of his empire by gaining victory on Istarkhan up to Hansi and by Hisar from Heda Khan Kayamkhani. He made Amersar his capital in 1449 CE. 



Shekha built the temple of Lord Jagdish in Amersar and Shikargarh Fort in 1477 CE. 
He died at a place named Ralawata in 1488 CE, where a chatri (Cenotaph) has been in his memory.


Maha Rao Shekha


Maha Rao Shekha Fought 52 Battles in his lifetime. He is considered to be the founder of Shekhawat Sub-Clan of the Kachwaha Dynasty. His wife Ganga Kumari Built Kalyanji temple in front of Amersar Fort.
